At Next Steps Housing we are committed to being respectful, responsible members of the neighborhood community. Our Good Neighbor Policies ensure that our presence enhances, rather than disrupts, the residential environment. These policies apply to all residents, staff, and guests.
- Respect for Property and Privacy
- Residents and staff will respect the privacy, property, and peace of all neighbors and of each other.
- Trespassing, loitering, or entering neighboring properties is strictly prohibited.
- Noise levels will be kept to a minimum, especially during quiet hours (10:00 PM – 8:00 AM).
- Cleanliness and Curb Appeal
- The property exterior will be well maintained at all times (mowed lawn, tidy porch/yard, no trash).
- Residents will not leave personal items (bicycles, chairs, clothing, etc.) outside unattended.
- Trash and recycling bins will be put out on the appropriate days and returned promptly.
- Parking and Traffic
- Residents and visitors must park only in designated areas (driveway or legal street parking).
- Blocking driveways, sidewalks, or fire hydrants is prohibited.
- Speed limits and all traffic laws must be followed when entering or exiting the neighborhood.
- Noise and Conduct
- Loud music, shouting, or disruptive gatherings are not allowed.
- Residents will be courteous when coming and going, especially during early morning or late-night hours.
- Social gatherings must be pre-approved by the House Manager and kept small, quiet, and respectful.
- Pets
- If pets are allowed, they must be kept on a leash at all times when outside.
- Residents are responsible for cleaning up after their pets immediately.
- Excessive barking or aggressive behavior is not permitted
- Community Engagement
- We encourage residents to contribute positively to the neighborhood (e.g., participating in local cleanups, being courteous in interactions).
- Concerns raised by neighbors will be taken seriously and addressed promptly by house leadership.

- Any complaints or incidents will be addressed respectfully and documented.
- Neighbors can contact the House Manager directly for any non-emergency concern.
- All concerns will be acknowledged within 24 hours.
- A written or verbal follow-up will be made within 3 business days, including the outcome or steps taken.
- All grievances and resolutions will be documented by management.
- Residents found violating Good Neighbor Policies may face house consequences up to and including discharge.

- Zero Tolerance for Illegal or Disruptive Behavior
- No drug or alcohol use, loitering, public intoxication, or illegal activity will be tolerated on or around the property.
- Violations may lead to immediate eviction and possible reporting to legal authorities if required.
